If a student’s semester GPA or cumulative GPA (after two semesters) falls below 2.5, but the student has met the course grade requirements in Section IV-E, the student will be placed on Physical Therapy Program Academic Probation the following semester.

If the cumulative GPA is not 3.0 or higher by the end of Year 3, the student will enter the graduate level on probation.

Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 each semester. If the semester GPA and/or cumulative GPA falls below 3.0, but course grade requirements have been met, the student will be placed on Physical Therapy Program Academic Probation the following semester.

Successful completion of all courses in the first three years of the Bachelor of Science in Health Science is required before entering the graduate phase of the program.

Failure to complete these requirements before the beginning of the fourth year will result in removal from the Physical Therapy Program. Students may appeal for readmission (see Appeals Process, Section IV-J).

Although the university requires a minimum grade of C- (74%), students in the Physical Therapy Program must earn a C or higher in all degree-specific undergraduate courses without a PHTH prefix, while also maintaining the required semester and cumulative GPA.

Examples include HIST, ENG, PHL, SOSC, HUM, and PSYCH.

This policy applies to:

Students must earn a C or higher in:

All graduate-level coursework must be successfully completed at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½.

A second grade below B- during a later graduate semester results in dismissal. This exception does not apply during the final didactic semester of Year 6, when all courses must be above 80% to proceed to terminal clinical experiences.

A student who receives a No Pass in a clinical experience will be dismissed and must appeal for readmission. If readmitted, the clinical experience must be repeated, delaying conferral of the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Students receiving a No Pass in Research Proposal I, Research Proposal II, Research Symposium, or Seminar will be reviewed individually. Outcomes may include dismissal from the program.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Grade Point Average (GPA)
