Ģý Appoints Dr. Jaime Peters as Dean of the John E. Simon School of Business

Ģý is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Jaime Peters as the new Dean of the John E. Simon School of Business. An accomplished educator, financial expert, and industry veteran, Dr. Peters transitions into this leadership role after serving as the school’s Assistant Dean and Associate Professor of Finance.

Dr. Peters brings a wealth of real-world expertise and academic rigor to the deanship. Her professional background is rooted in high-level financial analysis, having served as a Senior Equity Analyst for Morningstar, Inc., where she specialized in the banking sector. During the 2007-2008 financial crisis, Dr. Peters became a prominent voice in national media, providing critical insights into the stock market’s reaction to the housing collapse – a testament to her ability to bridge the gap between complex economic concepts and public understanding.

“Dr. Peters embodies the Ģý spirit of innovation and student-centric leadership,” said Dr. Scott Chadwick, Provost at Ģý. “Her unique blend of industry experience at the highest levels and her deep commitment to academic excellence make her the ideal leader to guide the Simon School of Business as we continue to evolve our curriculum.”

In her time at Ģý, Dr. Peters has been a champion of data-driven decision-making and the use of artificial intelligence in the classroom and in research. A published author and sought-after speaker on the topic, Dr. Peters was an early adopter and innovator in how to incorporate artificial intelligence ethically into the classroom to engage students and expand critical thinking.

As Dean, Dr. Peters will oversee a comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs, including Ģý’s highly-ranked online offerings. Her vision for the school focuses on cultivating technical proficiency and career readiness to ensure students are prepared to lead in a rapidly changing global economy.

“I am honored to lead the John E. Simon School of Business at such a pivotal moment,” said Dr. Peters. “We’re building on a strong foundation to further position Ģý as a leader in reimagining business education as a driver of economic mobility and regional growth. That means deepening our partnerships with the business community, expanding real-world learning opportunities, and opening our doors even wider—so our students graduate not just prepared, but already in motion toward meaningful careers.”

Dr. Peters holds an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and a DBA from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is also a CFA charterholder.
